Film

Antony Varghese debuted with the film Angamaly Diaries (2017), directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery and written by Chemban Vinod Jose. His character, Vincent Pepe, an energetic and unruly young man, was highly appreciated by the audience and critics. He is now popularly known by his screen name, Pepe.

Antony Varghese played the character of a convict named Jacob Varghese in the prison action thriller, Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil (2018), directed by Tinu Pappachan. The film was a success commercially, and his role was also well-appreciated.

Controversies

Jude Anthany Joseph’s allegation against Antony Varghese

Antony was accused of accepting advance money and later withdrawing from the shooting of a film at short notice. It was for a film that was to be directed by Jude Anthany Joseph. Antony, however, called the allegations against him baseless and showed evidence of money transactions in the media. He complained of the mental hardships, he and his family had to endure due to the accusations made. His mother lodged a legal complaint on this matter.
