Rahul Prakash Kol

Rahul Prakash Kol (1983-2023) was an Indian politician and a member of the Apna Dal (Sonelal) party who was elected as an MLA from Chhanbey Assembly constituency in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh in 2017 and 2022. On 2 February 2023, he died due to cancer at Sushrut Hospital, Mumbai.

Career

Rahul Prakash contested and won the Chhanbey Assembly seat in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections. He was re-elected as an MLA from Chhanbey in 2022. He served as the National President of Yuva Manch Apna Dal (Sonelal). Apart from that, he also represented Apna Dal (Sonelal) as its leader in the Uttar Pradesh Legislature.

Death

He passed away on 2 February 2023 after fighting a long battle with cancer. At that time, he was admitted to Sushrut Hospital, Mumbai. Anupriya Patel, the President of Apna Dal (Sonelal) and Union Minister, posted a tweet to pay a tribute to Rahul Prakash Kol. She wrote,

Extremely pained by the sad news of the demise of dear Rahul Prakash Kol ji, young and popular MLA of Apna Dal (S). I am speechless because of Rahul’s departure like this. I pray to God to give peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family members in this hour of grief. Om Shanti!”
