Bandgi Kalra

Puneesh and Bandgi Kalra (Bandgee Kallra) started their relationship in Bigg Boss 11. They started faking a relationship and then got together as a real couple. In July 2023, after five years of dating, Bandgi put up a post on Instagram stating that the couple made a mutual decision to part ways. ^[2]The Times of India In an interview, Puneesh confirmed that they had an amicable breakup and were friends.

Business and Investment

In 2007, after completing his studies, he started working for Mid State Construction. He is also a popular investor in Delhi and has invested money in several different sources. He is also an investor in a chain of bars & nightclubs in Delhi. He is the co-owner of the Playboy Club in Delhi.

Television

In 2009, he made his TV debut by participating in the reality show Sarkaar Ki Duniya which aired on Real TV. He was declared the winner of that show and won the cash prize of ₹ 1 crore.

In 2017, he participated in Bigg Boss 11 as a commoner. He entered this show to gain fame and mark his name in the country. He stated that he wanted to show the celebrities that as a commoner, he has a lifestyle as lavish as theirs. While his behaviour was aggressive in the beginning, he calmed down later and won the place of 3rd runner-up.

In 2018, he appeared on the TV show Muskaan, as the character Bunty Singh.

In 2019, he appeared on the show Love Sleep Repeat (since 2019) on the Zee 5 channel. In 2021, he appeared on one episode of the TV show Entertainment Ki Raat (since 2017) as himself.

Other Work

In 2018, he and his then-girlfriend Bandgi appeared in the music video for the song Love Me by Meet Bros & Khushboo Grewal (feat. Bandgi Kalra & Puneesh Sharma).

Volume Up

In 2023, Puneesh co-founded a media production house called Volume Up with singer Manas Abhiram. In an interview, he mentioned that, to begin with, they will focus on producing music and short films. He also stated that he started his own production company because other producers duped him. Speaking of his experience, he said,

Post the pandemic, there was little work and I had to face a lot of challenges. My popularity which I had received as an Ex-Bigg Boss contestant also faded. Nevertheless, I got to meet people from the industry who raised my hopes with fake promises to make them crash again. I had signed one film and was preparing for that, but it was scrapped. In this I wasted 6 months of my life. Similarly, I was assigned a television show but when I turned-up on the set, I got to know I was replaced by an actor who according to them was more suitable for the role. Then I got another TV show, in which including me many other actors were also replaced. These all experiences demoralised me a lot.” ^[3]ADgully

He was inspired to start Volume Up after a famous producer he met in Goa gave him the idea of giving work to himself. The first project under this label is the music video of Haara Nahi (2023) which Puneesh starred in.

Controversy

Issues With Bandgi Kalra In Bigg Boss

When Puneesh and Bandgi Kalra were on Bigg Boss, they were the cause of many controversies. At first, a member of the crew alleged that Bandgi was cheating on him with Puneesh. These claims were denied. however, at the same time, Bandgi was in a relationship with one of Puneesh’s friends, Dennis Nagpal. After witnessing Puneesh and Bandgi being affectionate, Dennis posted on social media that he was breaking up with her. He also retweeted a tweet from Shilpa Shinde who criticised the two for dating on the show.

However, Bandgi stated that their relationship ended before Bigg Boss. The couple were also called out by the host Salman Khan for their public displays of affection (PDA). He said,

Puneesh and Bandagi, both of you have to be very careful about how you want to portray yourselves on national television as your parents are also watching this show.” ^[4]News18

The duo faced criticism from fans of the show for ignoring the host’s warning and continuing their PDA. Puneesh was blamed for being partial towards Bandgi during the show.

A few months after exiting Bigg Boss, rumours developed that the couple were in a live-in relationship. They had also allegedly gotten very drunk and disturbed their neighbours. Both reality stars clarified that they did not live together and stated that everything being reported was fake news.

Award

Puneesh Sharma won the “Best Reality TV Star” award in 2022.

Tattoos

Puneesh has a colour tattoo of the Lord Shiva on the right side of his chest. He also has a bird tattooed on his upper arm. In January 2022, he posted an Instagram reel stating he was getting rid of the tattoo on his arm.

• Puneesh is a well-known face in Delhi Page 3 Circuit. In an interview, he referred to himself as a party animal.

• During an interview, Puneesh stated that he was disappointed at the TV channel “Colors TV” for not giving him any work. He said that despite being a product of Colors TV and a Bigg Boss runner-up, he didn’t get any work from them, while their rivals offered him roles.

• He drinks alcohol and smokes cigarettes.
