Prashant Yadav is an Indian Politician. He is a member of the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia (PSPL) and was elected as the State General Secretary in 2019.


Prashant Yadav was born in a Yadav family in 1994 (age 27 years; as in 2021) in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, India. He received his education from St. Mary’s Inter College, Etawah, St. Thomas Convent School, Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, and City Montessori School, Lucknow. After that, he did BA from Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra. He then pursued MA (English) from Dr. Bhimrao University, Agra. Later, he pursued B.Ed from Lucknow University.

Parents & Siblings

His father is a senior PCS officer in U.P. Government, and his mother is sarpanch of Kadampur gram panchayat in Etawah district. He has one brother, Nishant Kumar who is graduated from RMIT University, Melbourne and currently pursuing masters from Amity University, Noida. His sister, Dr. Akanksha Yadav, is Jila Panchayat Adhyaksh from district Firozabad (U.P.). His brother-in-law, Mr. Vijay Pratap Singh, urf Chotu bhaiya is MLA from Sirsaganj, Firozabad (U.P.)

Prashant Yadav is married to Neha Yadav, daughter of Mr. Surendra Yadav (Mandi Parishad Adhyaksh, Bhind, M.P.) and Mrs. Guddi Yadav (Jila Panchayat Adhyaksh, Bhind, M.P.).

In 2010, he was elected as general secretary, Uttar Pradesh Backward Association. Later in 2011, he was elected as district president, Samajwadi Party Student Wing, Mainpuri (U.P.). Under his leadership, Samajwadi Party won all 4 seats in the Mainpuri district in the Vidhan Sabha elections 2012, and after that Mr. Akhilesh Yadav was elected as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. He became one of the favourites chief ministers after that. In Lok Sabha elections 2014, Mulayam Singh Yadav’s grandson Mr. Tej Pratap Yadav won from the Mainpuri district under his leadership. In 2017, despite a clean-sweep by the BJP in the Vidhan Sabha elections, Prashant Yadav’s candidate managed to win from 109, Kishni constituency, Mainpuri (U.P.).

Later in 2017, the Samajwadi party cheated with his brother in law after which he left the Samajwadi Party. He got many offers from BJP to join but he refused as he is a relative of the founder of the Samajwadi party, Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav. He joined Shivpal Singh Yadav’s PSPL (Pragati Sheel Samajwadi Party) in 2018.


There are almost 12 criminal cases related to murder, homicide, house-trespass, causing hurt to the public servant, motor vehicle act, etc. pending against him under various sections of IPC.
