She took up maths and science as her main subjects till the 12th standard because her father wanted her to become an engineer. Before getting married, Poppy and actor Karan V Grover dated each other for around a decade. Karan and Poppy met at a car parking for the first time, when Karan actually helped her in finding a space to park her car. As a Model
Post earning her master’s degree in Fashion Designing, she relocated to Mumbai in search of work as a model. In 2009, she participated in ‘Gladrags Mega Model Manhunt’ and won the title of ‘Best Body’, following this the door of opportunities opened for her, and she started getting more offers for TV ads and fashion shows.

She did various fashion shows such as ‘Lakme Fashion Week’, ‘Bangalore & Pune Fashion Weeks’, ‘India Bridal week’, etc. She also got several opportunities to do print shoots.

Apart from being a model, Poppy Jabbal has also done anchoring for many sports shows like ‘Pro Wrestling League Khel Fauladi’ (2015) and ‘Celebrity Cricket League’ (2014-15). She also hosted a Zee UK show named ‘Trendsetters’, which telecasted more than 500 episodes.
As an Actor
After coming to Mumbai in search of work, Poppy was roped in for an ad shoot which included around 50 people. She recalled in an interview that shooting her first advertisement was the hardest thing for her as it took approx. 20 hours while shooting the commercial and when it was released, Poppy was not even visible in it. She revealed in an interview that when she gave an audition for the role of a pregnant psychiatrist for the web series Broken but Beautiful, she was bloated and had put on up to 6 kilos of weight due to a medical condition. She added that she wasn’t doing well emotionally so she kept rejecting when the casting director told her that her audition was cleared. She said that it was the demise of actress Sridevi that opened her eyes and she finally agreed to do the web series. [2]YouTube She received a lot of praise for Broken but Beautiful S1&2. Some of her other notable web series include Lost & Found and Puncch Beat 2. Apart from web series, Poppy has also featured in a few Punjabi movies including ‘Uda Aida’, ‘Mahi NRI’ with Harrdy Sandhu, and ‘Welcome Bhua Ji’ with Binnu Dhillon.

She also participated in the TV show Vodafone MTV rush. In an interview, she revealed that she has done more than 80 TV commercials and print shoots.
