Pawan Singh was born on Sunday, 5 January 1986 (age 38 years; as of 2024) in the Jokahari Village of Arrah City, Bihar. His zodiac sign is Capricorn. He went to Kolkata in his childhood, where he did his primary schooling. He then returned to Arrah, where he did his intermediate schooling from H.N.K. High School. He then pursued his graduation from Maharaja College in Arrah.

Pawan Singh made his debut as a singer with the album “Odhaniya Wali” (1997).

He released many hit albums such as “Kaanch Kasailli” (1997) and “Lollypop Lagelu” (2008). The song “Lollypop Lagelu” from his album “Lollypop Lagelu” became an instant hit in India and abroad. Many of the international artists made many remixes of the song.

He made his acting debut with the Bhojpuri film “Rangli Chunariya Tohre Naam” in 2007.

He has acted in several hit Bhojpuri films such as Pratigya (2008), Pawan Purwaiya (2010), Devra Bada Satawela (2010), Saugandh Ganga Maiya Ke (2012), Truck Driver (2013), Sarkar Raj (2017), Satya (2017), Maa Tujhe Salaam (2018), Raja (2019), Crack Fighter (2019), and many more.

Politics

In 2014, Pawan Singh joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was formally inducted by the BJP General Secretary Arun Singh, who garlanded Pawan with saffron stole in the presence of party’s General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav, and Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai.

Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP offered him a ticket from the Asansol constituency in West Bengal, but he denied the offer. In May 2024, he filed his nomination papers for the Karakat Lok Sabha seat in Bihar as an independent candidate. On 22 May 2024, he was expelled from the BJP after he decided to contest the Lok Sabha election against an NDA candidate.

Controversies

Akshara Singh accused him of trying to sabotage her career

Akshara Singh and Pawan Singh’s rumours were on full bloom until he got married to Jyoti Singh in 2018. Post Pawan’s marriage with Jyoti, Akshara Singh accused Pawan of trying to sabotage her career. According to Akshara, she decided to end her relationship with Pawan after he got married. Instead, Pawan kept on pressurising her to be in the relationship. She also alleged that she had received death threats via call and messages from Singh. Following this, Akshara filed an FIR against Pawan Singh for defaming her and posting vulgar pictures and video on the internet.

His wife Jyoti Singh accused him of mental harassment

In October 2022, in her complaint at a police station in Ballia, Pawan Singh’s second, wife, Jyoti Singh, accused him of mental harassment. According to Jyoti, Pawan forced her to go for an abortion and instigated her to commit suicide. [1]The Economic Times

Bhojpuri actress Yamini Singh accused him of misconduct

As reported by the media in January 2023, Bhojpuri actress Yamini Singh accused him of misconduct on a film set and said that he asked her to compromise. Later, she denied the accusations and said that it was not Pawan Singh but the crew of the Bhojpuri film Boss who misbehaved with her. In an interview with a media channel, some misunderstandings happened which is fine. “COMPROMISE” is a big word, which I will never ever use for anyone because I know the meaning of it. People are spicing up things and exaggerating the small topic which technically took place because of some misunderstanding. So, My simple reply to all, in simple words, is that “I respect all my co-stars and I worship my work.”

A female YouTuber lodged an FIR against Pawan at the Kadamkuan police station in September 2024 after she received murder threats from Pawan’s followers after she covered a news on him. [3]News18
