In 1977, she made her debut as a child actor in the drama film ‘Apnapan’ in which she played the role of a beggar.

She worked in two more films as a child actor titled ‘Jalan’ and ‘Parivartan.’ In 1985, she worked in the film ‘Ardhangi.’ In 1987, she played the role of Chutki Singh in the action thriller film ‘Naam O Nishan’ starring Sanjay Dutt. In the same year, she played the role of Rajni Mathur in the crime film ‘Marte Dam Tak’ in which Raaj Kumar and Govinda were cast in lead roles. She played the role of Kamla in the 1988 film ‘Ghar Mein Ram Gali Mein Shyam.’ In 1988, she was cast to play the role of Madhuri in the film ‘Sarvashrestha.’ In the same year, she worked in the film ‘Afsar.’ She appeared as Seema in the 1991 action drama film ‘Narsimha’ starring Sunny Deol. • On 3 April 2020, she created her YouTube channel ‘Nivedita Saraf Recipes,’ where she posts videos related to cooking. She has more than 250k subscribers on her YouTube channel.

• In an interview, she revealed that cooking is her passion; however, when she got married to Ashok Saraf, she did not know anything about cooking and used to call her mother for even the smallest task in cooking. She revealed that she does not eat street food at all; however, she cooks them at home.

• In an interview, she revealed that to stay fit, she practices yoga for three days and goes for a walk for the next three days.

  When I got married to Ashok Saraf, I decided to take a break from acting while pregnant. I often felt that my baby should not have what we went through as children. Ashok was busy with films at that time so it was never possible for him to give time to his son. That’s why I took this decision. I didn’t want to take away my son’s happiness because of my passion for acting.”
