Mohit was born on 4 April 1986 (aged 37; as of 2023) in Delhi, India. He was inspired by his brother, Himmanshoo Ashok Malhotra, who is also an actor. It was only after he saw his brother on-screen that he developed an interest in acting and dancing. After achieving immense popularity with the reality show, MTV Splitsvilla Season 2, he started receiving offers from the Hindi television industry. He debuted on television with the TV serial “Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke.” Since then there has been no looking back for Mohit.

Mohit Malhotra did his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Delhi, New Delhi. He also did a specialized course in International Business from the University of California, Berkeley, California. In 2009, he participated in the season 2 of MTV’s reality show, MTV Splitsvilla; where he was the first runner-up.
He started his acting career, in 2009, by playing the role of Birju in Star Plus’ TV show, “Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke.” After that, he has worked in several famous TV serials like Sasural Genda Phool (2010), Bade Achhe Lagte Hain (2011), Kya Huaa Tera Vaada (2012), Yeh Hai Aashiqui (2014), etc. In 2010, he received the Indian Telly Award for Best Fresh New Face Male. He has also been featured in numerous TV commercials like Convergys, Minute Maid, Aircel, Royal Enfield, V-Mart, Pepsi, etc.
