Harassing a female home guard constable
In October 2020, a female Home Guard constable named Sanket Kumari accused Manish of calling her to meet him alone, when he was posted at Amroha. Previously, two female Home Guards had accused him of coercing them into cooking at his residence day and night. Sanket said that Manish removed her from duty after her request to remove her from a parade.

She alleged that despite multiple attempts to address the issue with the Commandant, no action was taken. On 26 October 2020, she visited the Chief Minister’s office and submitted a complaint to the assigned officials, followed by a complaint to the DG Home Guards. The DG assured her that she would be assigned duty in Amroha; however, she was not assigned any duty even after five days. Extra-marital affair with Jyoti Maurya SDM
In June 2023, Jyoti Maurya‘s husband, Alok Maurya, publicly accused her of having an extramarital affair with Manish. According to his statements in an interview, Manish’s wife informed him about the affair in 2020. Alok claimed that Jyoti initially connected with Manish on Facebook. When confronted by Alok, Jyoti denied any involvement and demanded evidence to support the allegations. Alok further stated that Jyoti had travelled to Lucknow under the pretext of work, and he followed her.

He alleged witnessing a meeting between Jyoti and Manish, with the couple spending the night together at Hotel Myriad in Lucknow, which was booked by Manish. The following morning, when Alok questioned Jyoti about Manish, she admitted to loving him. Alok also claimed that Jyoti threatened him with filing false cases, including rape charges, against him and his family members. To support his claims, Alok released WhatsApp chat messages exchanged between Jyoti and Manish, which contained intimate conversations. He also presented a diary allegedly maintained by Jyoti, which documented bribes she purportedly accepted during her tenure as an SDM. Alok appealed to Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, for assistance.

He stated that he had lodged a complaint with the Commissioner of Prayagraj Police and ASO, Dhoomanganj, in April 2023, but no action was taken against Jyoti. Alok further alleged that Jyoti conspired with Manish to kill him. In response, Jyoti maintained her innocence and stated that she would address the allegations in court. She also filed an FIR against Alok and his family members for harassment related to dowry. Following the viral news of her alleged affair, the Director General of Home Guards, B. K. Maurya, ordered an investigation into the matter. Although reports suggested that Jyoti had been suspended from her post, the confirmation of this information remained uncertain.
