Alok Kumar Maurya was born in Bachhawal village of Mehnagar tehsil of Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh, India. In 2009, he was employed as a grade-4 employee of the Panchayati Raj Department of Uttar Pradesh.

Controversy

Alleging his wife of cheating

In June 2023, Alok made public allegations that his wife, Jyoti Maurya, was having an affair with Manish Dubey, a Home Guard Commandant in Ghaziabad. Alok claimed that he was informed about the affair by Dubey’s wife in 2020. He stated that Jyoti and Manish initially connected on Facebook.

When confronted by Alok, Jyoti denied the allegations and demanded proof. Alok revealed that he followed Jyoti to Lucknow, where he witnessed her meeting Manish at Hotel Myriad, where they spent the night together. The following morning, Jyoti confessed her love for Manish when confronted by Alok. Alok further alleged that Jyoti threatened him with false charges, including rape accusations. He released WhatsApp chat messages between Jyoti and Manish, exposing their intimate conversations. Alok also claimed that Jyoti maintained a diary documenting bribes she received during her time as an SDM.

Alok sought assistance from Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and lodged a complaint with the Commissioner of Prayagraj Police and ASO, Dhoomanganj, in April 2023, but no action was taken. ^[1]YouTube- The Sunday Views He accused Jyoti of conspiring with Manish to harm him. Jyoti responded by asserting her innocence and vowing to address the allegations in court. She filed an FIR against Alok and his family members for dowry harassment. Following the viral news of the affair, the DG of Home Guards, B. K. Maurya, ordered an investigation into the matter. Although there were reports of Jyoti being suspended from her post, confirmation could not be obtained. In July 2023, a widely circulated WhatsApp conversation emerged wherein Jyoti and Manish were discussing killing Alok Maurya. ^[2]India Today
