Career

Leena started her career as a social media influencer. She used to make lip-syncing videos and transition videos on the video-sharing app TikTok; however, in 2020, the app was banned in India. Soon after the ban of TikTok, she started sharing her lip-syncing videos on Instagram. She had more than 11k followers on Instagram. In 2020, Leena started her YouTube channel ‘Royal Leena.’ On YouTube, she used to share vlogs related to lifestyle and makeup.

Death

On 27 June 2020, Leena was found hanging on the terrace of her house in Raigarh. According to sources, on Tuesday morning, Leena went on the terrace of her house to study, and a few hours later, her mother went to a nearby market. At noon, her mother returned home, and when she knocked on the terrace door, there was no response. Later, the door was opened after several attempts by her mother. When Leena’s mother opened the door, she found Leena hanging from the roof of her house; Leena hanged herself with a dupatta. The police said that no suicide note was recovered from the spot. In an interview, the Raigarh police officials talked about the case and said,

A 22-year-old social media influencer Leena Nagwanshi died by suicide by hanging herself in her home in Raigarh.When her mother returned home afternoon, the influencer was not in her room. When her mother checked the house and didn’t find her, she went to the terrace to check but the door was locked. Somehow she tried to open the door and saw Leena hanging on the roof of her own house. The body has been sent for post-mortem.” ^[3]ANI
