Darsheel Mitesh Safary was born on Sunday, 9 March 1997 (age 26 years; as of 2023) in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. His zodiac sign is Pisces. He did his schooling at Greenlawns High School in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Later, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media at H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. His parents aspired for him to become a business executive or a jewellery designer. He was discovered by Indian scriptwriter Amol Gupte in 2006 when Safary was attending Shiamak Davar’s “Summer Funk” dance show. He was selected for the film ‘Taare Zameen Par,’ which was shot from 2006 to 2007. Darsheel, then nine, faced school opposition but actor Aamir Khan ensured his studies were not affected. Khan funded Darsheel’s education and provided personal tuition for him. Aamir also addressed the concerns of the school authorities.
