Coffey Anderson is an American country singer, songwriter, and content creator. He is best known for singing pop, country, and Christian songs. He has also appeared as a contestant on shows, like American Idol, and NBC’s Nashville Star. Later, he came to fame through his YouTube videos in which he sings lively renditions of original songs as well as his own compositions. Coffey tours extensively for his live shows and is popular for his interactive stage performances.

Coffey Anderson was born on Friday, December 15, 1978 (age 42 years; as in 2020), and he hails from Bangs in Texas, United States. He graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. During his college days, he used to borrow his then girlfriend’s father’s guitar to learn the chords and sing. In 2002, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue music.

On February 14, 2009, Coffey Anderson got married to Criscilla Anderson, a professional dancer, and choreographer. In September 2018, Criscilla was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. The couple has three children; a son Ethan Anderson, two daughters Emmarie Grace-Gloria Anderson, and Everleigh Anderson. Coffey also has a daughter, Savannah Jean Anderson, from his previous marriage.

Career

Since childhood, Coffey Anderson was passionate about singing and used to sing in a church choir. During his college days, he created a buzz among his fellow students as his singing would attract them to come and listen. Later, he started performing country music in local opening slots for bands, and gospel music, a genre of Christian music, in local churches. In 2003, Coffey Anderson made his television debut with the American singing competition television series, American Idol in which he didn’t taste any evident success.

In 2008, he was the third runner-up on the American reality television singing competition, Nashville Star.

Although the show helped him to gain a loyal fanbase, it did not attract any deals from the music recording companies. On Dec 21, 2013, he joined YouTube and started composing his own material. Anderson became popular via his YouTube videos where he sings lively renditions of original songs as well as his own compositions. Some of his most popular YouTube videos include Memphis, Southern Man, Rock and Roll Sally, Can I?, and Better Today.

He tours extensively around the country for stage concerts, church and public events, performances in fairs, rodeos, live concerts, and shows. He has also performed on various shows and channels, like Fox and Friends, Glenn Beck’s The Blaze, CMT, TBN, NBC, etc. In 2020, Country-Ish, a reality series that follows the lives of Coffey Anderson and his wife, Criscilla Anderson premiered on Netflix. The series showcases their life in Los Angeles while Criscilla Anderson who is battling cancer tries to manage her life and family.

  • Coffey Anderson grew up in Central Texas in a farming community where he used to farm goats. His mother used to sing in the church. He was born into an orthodox Christian family and he also used to sing in a church choir. In an interview, he said,

    I wasn’t allowed to have anything but Christian music in my house growing up”

  • Coffey was also a part of the Howard Payne basketball program from 1999-2002 seasons. He has scored 828 points in his career. Anderson has also collected 81 assists, 63 steals, and 37 blocks in his time at Howard Payne.
  • Coffey also works with charity organizations, like Keegans Promise, and Military Warriors Support Foundation in order to help raise funds to award mortgage-free homes to wounded war-affected soldiers.
