Catherine Tresa is an Indian actress and model, who works primarily in the Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu film industries. She is known for her roles in the Kannada film Godfather (2012), Tamil film Madras (2014), and Telugu film Nene Raju Nene Mantri (2017).

She completed her school education in Dubai. During her school days, she was trained in various extracurricular activities such as playing the piano, singing, ice skating, and public speaking. She relocated to Bengaluru for her higher studies at St. Joseph’s University, where she got various modelling opportunities which opened up her acting career. She did modelling for various businesses such as Nalli Silks, Chennai Silks, Fastrack, Josco Jewellers, and Deccan Chronicle.

Catherine’s debut role was in the Kannada crime thriller film, Shankar IPS (2010), as Shilpa alongside Duniya Vijay and Ragini Dwivedi in the lead roles.

Her first Malayalam film was The Thriller (2010) with a character named Meera, alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran. She also appeared as the character Vinila Sathyaneshan in the film Uppukandam Brothers: Back in Action (2011).

Social Media criticism following her brother’s death

Catherine faced a lot of social media criticism following her brother’s suicide. It was reported that he suffered from depression at the time of his death. There were allegations of estrangement from the family and no financial support against her and her family. Her friends came out in support of her stating that they were very close with each other.
