Career

In 1996, Campbell Wilson began his career as a Management Trainee by joining Singapore Airlines (SIA) in Auckland, New Zealand. In 2006, he was appointed as the vice-president of the airlines in Canada. He held this position for two years after which he was promoted to the position of General Manager of Hong Kong. In 2010 he was appointed to lead the operation of Singapore Airlines in Japan. In 2011 he took over the position of CEO at Scoot, which is a low-cost carrier of the Singapore Airlines Group.

After a few months, Campbell came up with the Scoot budget carrier [3]NBC News and left in June 2016. After this, he worked as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing of SIA where he handled Pricing, Distribution, Merchandising, eCommerce, Global Sales, Branding, and Marketing at SIA’s overseas office. Before this, the Board of Tata Sons appointed Ilker Ayci, the former Turkish Airlines Chairperson as the new CEO of Air India but he turned down the offer a few weeks later after which this opportunity was passed to Campbell Wilson. Campbell was appointed as the MD and CEO of Air India on 12 May 2022. The Tata Sons Chairman Mr. N Chandrasekaran spoke about this decision and said,

I am delighted to welcome Campbell to Air India. He is an industry veteran having worked in key global markets cutting across multiple functions.
