Mehjabi follows Islam. In 2022 she announced that she was going to quit show business and start wearing a hijab at all times to follow the “orders of her Creator (referring to Allah).” Speaking of her choice of turning into a more religious person, she shared on her Instagram account,

I am writing this because I was very upset for 2 years. I had no understanding as to what to do to feel good…Human beings can never get rest by disobeying Allah. No matter how hard to try to please people and no matter how much time you give, people will never appreciate you. It is better that you spend your time in persuading Allah. Career

Mehjabi was a social worker who worked for the welfare of women in society. In 2017 she participated in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss Season 11 (Padosi Bajayenge Barah) as a commoner and “padosi”. She entered on Day 1 and was evicted on Day 42 by public vote.

After exiting the house, she made negative remarks against the contestants of the house. Her favourite co-contestants were Arshi Khan and Akash Dadlani and she spoke about how she hated Hina Khan the most. She said,

In 2018, Mehjabi made her music video debut with the song ‘Woofer Woofer.’ The song was sung by her brother, Wasim Sheikh. The song also featured her husband, Azim Sheikh.

Controversies

Negative Remarks On Appearance

Mehjabi was called kaali dayan (black witch) on Bigg Boss 11 by her co-contestant, Puneesh Sharma. She stated that her complexion was dark because she was on medication. She faced criticism from the watchers of Bigg Boss when she said that her husband loved her despite him being fair. She was criticised for her explanation as people stated it was negative towards people with darker complexions. She received negative and positive attention when people noticed a drastic change in her complexion after leaving Bigg Boss. When asked about the comments, she said she was glad people liked her change and that she was surprised no one noticed her personality in Bigg Boss.
