Sshivani Durga is an Indian occultist, Godwoman, and author. She is also a singer, author, Wiccan, tantrika, psychic, healer, Vodou anthropologist, and spirit hunter. She entered the popular reality show Bigg Boss 11 in 2017 as a commoner.

Sshivani Durga was born in 1975 (age 49 years; as of 2024) in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. She calls herself Singh Vahini which means Lion Rider Durga. Shivani is an occultist by profession. She holds a double PhD in Occultism from The University of Chicago, Illinois, USA. She also holds a Ph.D. in Karma Kanda.

Career

In 2011, she founded the Indian Wiccan Community & Vodou Temple (IWCVT). She is also the director, editor, and writer. She also offers workshops and courses under IWCVT. She then founded the Sarweshvari Shakti Women Akhara. In 2012, she started the Sshivani Durga Productions where she is also the producer. Under her production house, she made Short Cut, a short film that was screened in various film festivals and buses all around Mumbai. She also made a short film named “Suicide”. In 2013, she worked as a Crystal Ball Gazer/Psychic on Astro Channel for six months. In 2013 she also became the President of the Ganga Raksha Dal.

Bigg Boss 11

In 2017, she participated in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss Season 11 (Padosi Bajayenge Barah) as a commoner. She entered the house on Day 1 and was evicted by public vote on Day 14.

In 2012, she released an album named Recalling which was streamed on Hungama. The album was released under her production house, Sshivani Durga Productions. Her song from the album, Moko, was nominated for Best Female in Fusion Category by the 3rd Annual Artist Aloud Awards in 2013. In 2022 she sang Damru Dhara. In 2023, she released the song, Jago Kali which she wrote, composed, and sang.

She has been awarded the ‘Tarot Queen of Cups’ by Bharat Nirman and ‘Outstanding Professionalism’ by GTN.

She wrote a thesis on Veda Science: Wicca-Tantra-Vodou-Religion and Science.

Controversies

Kumbh Festival

In 2015, she formed her own Akhara during the Kumbh festival in Nashik, Maharashtra. She faced criticism for pitching up tents at the Kumbh Mela as a woman saint.

Controversy Around Entering Bigg Boss

She was criticized in 2017 by the Sant Samaj for entering the Bigg Boss 11 house as they found it unethical for any saint to enter such type of controversial show. The president of the All India Akhada Parishad stated that only fake sadhus participate in reality shows and hinted that her name would be on the list of fake Babas released by the Akhada Parishad. He went on to say,

Shivani has no knowledge of tantra-mantra and she is misleading the public for her own popularity.” ^[1]The Statesman

Controversy With Ekta Kapoor

Sshivani Durga had raised complaints against Ekta Kapoor for the portrayal of army officers and their spouses in her web series. Sshivani stated that an apology from Ekta wasn’t enough. She took to social media to express her discontent, stating that Ekta’s actions were disrespectful and showed disloyalty to the country.

Sshivani suggested that Ekta’s misfortune would begin immediately and continue until she faced her lowest point in life. She implied that she would take help from Tantriks to make sure Ekta got a supernatural punishment for dishonouring the army.

Tattoo

Sshivani has various tattoos all over her body and face. She has an “I attract” tattoo on the back of her right palm. On her face, she has tattoos of a star, a third eye, and a half moon among others. She also has an ‘Om’ symbol on her chest.
