Vivek Mehra was born in 1961 (age 63 years; as of 2024) in Delhi. He did his schooling at Lawrence School, Sanawar, Himachal Pradesh. He did BCom at Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi. On 15 July 2008, he got married to the Indian actress Neena Gupta. For the first time, they met on a flight to Mumbai and instantly got connected. Vivek was separated from his first wife at that time. After dating for a few years, the couple got married in a private ceremony in the US. At the time he met Neena Gupta, he was divorced and had two children from his first marriage.

After their marriage, Neena stayed in Mumbai while Vivek lived in Delhi. The Indian fashion designer Masaba Gupta is his stepdaughter from Neena Gupta and Neena’s ex-boyfriend Vivian Richards.

Career

From January 1990 to January 1997, he worked as a managing partner at P R Mehra & Co. Delhi. In January 1997, he became a partner in the private firm PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited (PwC). While he was working there, he headed the M&A Tax practice. He was also elected as a member of the PwC Governing Board and India’s Tax Leadership Team. He worked there till March 2016. In May 2017, he was appointed as an independent director at Jubilant Life Sciences Ltd. As an independent director, he works at various companies like Embassy Office Parks Management Services Private Limited, DLF Limited, HT Media Ltd, Hero Future Energies Pvt. Ltd., and Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited. In 2017, he became the non-executive chairman at Religare Health Trust. He is also the founder of the private firm Mindshare. He has been appointed as a director at around 17 firms including Vivek Mehra LLP, Havells India Limited, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, DLF Assets Limited, House of Masaba Lifestyle Private Limited, Bharat Hotels Limited, and Coopers and Lybrand (India) Private Limited.
