Career

Vijayveer started shooting at the age of eleven and took professional training under his coach D. S. Chandel. He has participated and won many national and international shooting championships. In 2018, Vijayveer made his international debut in 25 m Standard Pistol Men Junior at the ISSF Junior World Cup held in Suhl, Germany, where he won a gold medal. In 2021, he bagged three gold medals at the World Championships held in Lima, Peru. Vijayveer Sidhu represented India at the 19th Asian Games (2022) held in Hangzhou, China in 2023. He won a bronze medal for shooting in the men’s 25 m rapid-fire pistol team event along with his teammates Anish Bhanwala and Adarsh Singh. However, Vijayveer could not finish among medal winners in the 25 m rapid-fire pistol men’s final shooting event as he stood fourth with a score of 21 points. In the 2022 Asian Games, the Indian men’s trio finished in third place with 1718 points, while China earned the gold medal with 1765 points, and South Korea drew silver with 1734 points. ^[3]India Today
