Surya Kiran was born on Friday, 6 September 1974 (age 49 years; at the time of death) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. His zodiac sign is Libra. He was born in a Malayali family. His father’s name is T. S. Mani, and his mother’s name is Radha. He had two sisters, Sujitha Dhanush and Sunitha Radha. Sujitha is a well-known South Indian TV actress.

Career
He started his career as a child actor, and he worked with renowned South Indian actors like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, and Rajinikanth; he worked in more than 200 films as a child actor.
His debut Tamil film as a child actor was ‘Mouna Geethangal’ (1981). His debut Malayalam film as an actor was ‘Snehikkan Oru Pennu’ (1978), starring the renowned actor Soman. In 1987, he played the role of young Nagarjuna in the Telugu film ‘Sankeertana.’ He was popular as “Master Suresh” (as a child actor) in South Indian films.
He debuted as a director in the Telugu film ‘Satyam’ (2003), produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna. He directed many Tamil and Telugu films, including ‘Brahmastram’ (2006), ‘Raju Bhai’ (2007), and ‘Chapter 6’ (2014). Apart from working as a director, he also tried his hand at screenwriting. In 2020, he appeared in the popular TV reality show ‘Bigg Boss Telugu 4’ along with other contestants like Noel Sean, Gangavva, and Karate Kalyani.

Death
On 11 March 2024, Surya died of jaundice at his home in Chennai. He had been receiving medical care for it at the Gem Hospital in Chennai.
