Somadas Haridasan was born in 1978 (age 42 years; at the time of death) in Chathanoor, Kollam, Kerala. He attended St. Joseph’s Convent GHSS, Kollam. He did his graduation from SN College, Kollam. ^[1]Asianet News

Family, Caste & Wife

Somadas was born in a South-Indian family. His father’s name is Haridasan. He got married to Surya in 2005. The couple is blessed with two daughters. After a few years of their marriage, they started facing problem in their married life, and later, got divorced.

Career

In 2008, he participated as a contestant in the singing reality show ‘Idea Star Singer.’ Though he did not win the show, he gained immense popularity through this show.

He got a big break in the music industry with the help of the actor Late Kalabhavan Mani. Somadas lent his voice as a playback singer for actor Kalabhavan Mani and music director Saram.

Some of his popular songs include ‘Kuruvaal Kuruvi’ from Annaarakkannanum Thannaalaayathu (2010), ‘Dance Cheyyu Bayya’ from Mr Perfect (2016), and ‘Ida Nenju’ from Mannaamkattayum Kariyilayum (2017).

 

Later, he performed in various live shows and events. On 5 January 2020, he entered Bigg Boss 2 Malayalam house along with Rajini Chandy, Sujo Mathew, RJ Raghu, and Reshma Rajan.

Controversy

In one of the episodes of Bigg Boss Malayalam 2, contestants were given a task to share something about their personal life. Somadas shared the story of his failed marriage and said that he had to fight for the custody of his own children from his ex-wife, Surya. Later, in her defence, Surya made a live video on Facebook and said,

Our problem started after he participated in Idea Star Singer. After the show, he had a lot of fans and he started an extramarital affair with various females. I have even seen offensive messages on his phone. When I enquired he started verbally and physically abusing me. He always hid the fact that he is married and never took me to the show even when whole family went. He hasn’t stayed in America for 5 years, he was only there for 2.5 years. Its totally wrong to state that, I took 5 Lakhs from him. I was not able to see my kids even after all these years and he declared that, i fled with my lover.” ^[2]Technoea

Death

Due to high BP, sugar, and cholesterol he had to quit the ‘Bigg Boss Malayalam 2’ (2020) midway, and because of his deteriorating condition, he passed away of cardiac arrest on 31 January 2021 (Sunday). ^[3]The Times of India
