Chelsi Behura was born on Thursday, 13 March 2003 (age 16 years; as in 2019) in Sikharpur, Cuttack, Odisha. Her zodiac sign is Pisces. Her father had passed away when she was too young. She is a student of Lajpat Rai DAV Public School, Gandarpur, Cuttack. She developed a deep interest in music from a very young age and started learning singing when she was 5 years old. She has learnt Hindustani Classical Music from Sasmita Mishra and Light Vocal Music from Sarada Prasanna Sahoo. When Chelsi was in her 5th standard, she started performing live with the local bands in Cuttack.

Family
Chelsi is the daughter of Sudhansu Behura (deceased) and Rekha Behura. She has one elder sister, Rozline Behura.
Career
Chelsi started her singing career in 2014 by participating in Sarthak TV’s (regional channel) singing reality show “Singing Superstar.” She was one of the top 60 contestants of the singing reality show “Indian Idol Junior” in 2015. In 2016, she participated in Sarthak TV’s “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs” and emerged as the 2nd runner up of the show.
Subsequently, she appeared in the singing reality show “Rising Star” as a contestant. She performed on the song “Har Kisi Ko” from on the film ‘Boss’ in the audition round of the show and impressed the audience and the expert panel with her voice. Chelsi scored 93% in the audition round of Rising Star. She made it to the top 14 in the show and was subsequently eliminated.
In 2019, Chelsi became one of the top 15 contestants of the singing reality show “Indian Idol 11.”
