Shivansh Thakur’s debut championship was the under-14 National Kabaddi Championship and after completing that he joined the hostel of Sports Authority of India for further professional training. In 2017, Shivansh Thakur took part in 29th Sub Junior National Kabaddi Championship and represented the state of Himachal Pradesh. The championship was held in Jharkhand. In 2022, Shivansh Thakur represented the Himachal Kabaddi team at the Khelo India Youth Games.

In the same year, he represented the Himachal team in the 69th Senior National Kabaddi Championship which was held in Dadri, Haryana. In the same year, Shivansh made his Pro Kabaddi League debut after getting selected by the Mumbai-based Kabaddi team ‘U Mumba’ to play in season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League. He played 6 matches in his debut season and held a tackle strike rate of 50% in the overall tournament. He was brought by the team at the price of Rs. 8.78 lakhs.

In 2023, Shivansh Thakur was retained by the team ‘U Mumba’ in season 10 of the Pro Kabaddi League and he also managed to win ‘Defender of the Day’ title multiple times in the tournament..
