A few hours after his murder, the Indian gangsters Goldy Brar, Lawrence Bishnoi, and Sachin Bishnoi took the responsibility for his murder via Facebook posts from their respective accounts. As the probe into the Moosewala murder case intensified, the Pune Police, which had earlier arrested sharp shooter Sourav Mahakal in the case, suspected the involvement of Santosh Jadhav in Moosewala’s murder. During a media conversation, Abhinav Deshmukh, the superintendent of  Pune Police, said,

The Pune police officials on Monday spoke with Mansa police, who believe Jadhav is likely to be among the shooters involved in Moosewala’s murder. The Punjab Police is probing the case and we will provide any help needed.”

He further said that Jadhav has been working for the Bishnoi gang whose members along with him are accused of another offence at Gangapur in Rajasthan. Soon after, Jadhav’s name popped up in the case, the Punjab Police issued a lookout notice against him and also released his photograph. As per some sources, Jadhav has fled to Nepal. During the police interrogation, the sharpshooter Sourav Mahakal revealed that Jadhav was in Pune just three days before the Punjab Police had released his picture. [2]Hindustan Times
