Career

Amar Krida Mandal

Sanket Sawant started playing Kabaddi in Jijamata Nagar, Mumbai, Maharashtra, where he joined a local team, Amar Krida Mandal. He played as a defender and an all-rounder. He also represented Dena Bank in the local tournaments in Maharashtra.

Air India 

In 2019, he played for the Air India Kabaddi team at the Shivneri Seva Mandal Dadar Kabaddi Competition 2019 and also won the tournament. During the tournament, Sanket was picked by Puneri Paltan’s coach, Anup Kumar, to play for Puneri Paltan in Season 7 of the Pro Kabaddi League.

Mumbai City Team

Sanket Sawant represented the Mumbai City team at many national Kabaddi tournaments. In December 2022, he became the captain of the Mumbai City team and represented the city at the 70th Maharashtra State Kabaddi Championship 2022 and won the tournament. In January 2023, he represented Mumbai City as a captain at the Maharashtra State Olympic Games 2022-23.

In December 2018, he played for Mumbai City at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Kabaddi Tournament and won the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Cup.

Pro Kabaddi League

In 2019, Sanket made his debut in season 7 of the Pro Kabaddi League. He played a total of 5 matches during the tournament. He maintained a tackle strike rate of 33 per cent and earned 7 points overall in the tournament.

In 2021, Sanket Sawant was retained by Puneri Paltan for Rs. 8 Lakh for season 8 of the Pro Kabaddi League. During season 8, he played a total of 23 matches during the tournament. He maintained a tackle strike rate of 28 per cent and earned 26 points overall in the tournament.

In 2022, Sanket Sawant was again retained by Puneri Paltan for Rs. 12.50 Lakhs for season 9 of the Pro Kabaddi League. During season 9, he played a total of 24 matches during the tournament. He maintained a tackle strike rate of 34 per cent and earned 30 points overall in the tournament.
