In 2020, a case was registered under section 295 of the Pakistan Penal Code for alleged ‘desecration’ of Masjid Wazir Khan. The case was registered against Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed, a Pakistani singer and music producer, for shooting a music video at the Mosque. Both Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed faced a lot of criticism and received many death threats for this, and they apologised publicly for it. Saba Said,

It was the music video featuring a Nikah (marriage) scene. It was neither shot with any sort of playback music nor has it been edited to the music track.”

The court cancelled the arrest warrants and ordered the collection of security bonds of Rs. 30,000 and ordered both the accused to appear in person. On 9 May 2022, both Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed were acquitted of the charges. [4]The Tribune
