Career

Film

Rony David Raj made his debut as an actor in 2006 with the Malayalam film ‘Pachakuthira.’ In 2007, he appeared as Nadeshan’s Gang Member in the film ‘Chotta Mumbai.’ He gained recognition after he played the role of Naik Sasi in the film ‘Kurukshetra’ (2008).

He essayed the role of Eeshwar in the film ‘Daddy Cool’ (2009). In 2010, he appeared alongside Kunchako Boban in the film ‘Sakudumbam Shyamala.’ In 2014, he appeared as an arguing husband in the Malayalm film ‘Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram.’ The film is also made in Tamil language. Rony became a household name after he played the role of Chacko Sir in the film ‘Aanandam’ (2016).

In 2021, he played the role of SI Suresh in the film ‘Roy,’ starring Suraj Venjaramoodu. The actor appeared alongside Mammootty in the crime-thriller film ‘Kannur Squad’ in 2023. He played the role of CPO Jayakumar P. Vasu aka Jayan in the film. He also co-wrote the screenplay for the film.

In the same year, he appeared in a lead role in the film ‘Pazhanjan Pranayam.’ Some of his other notable films include ‘Chocolate’ (2007), ‘Aagathan’ (2010), ‘Polytechnic’ (2014), ‘Thrissivaperoor Kliptham’ (2017), ‘Kaanekkaane’ (2021), ‘2018’ (2023), and ‘Nalla Nilavulla Rathri’ (2023).

Short Film

In 2015, he acted in the Malayalam short film ‘Open Your Mind’ in which he played the role of Rahul. He appeared as a Father in the Malayalam short film ‘The Confession’ (2019).

In 2020, he was featured in an ad film ‘Priyappetta Sarammakk’ for an online English language training institute named English Lakshya. The following year, he was featured in the drama thriller Malayalam short film ‘Raman Effect.’
