Shiva Jyothi, better known as ‘Teenmaar’ Savitri, is an Indian television anchor and newsreader from Telangana. She shot to fame with her show “Teenmaar” on V6 Telugu news channel.

Savitri was born on 14 February (age not known) in Nagampetta village of Muppakal Mandal in Nizamabad district, Telangana. Her zodiac sign is Aquarius. She did her schooling till 7th standard from Nagampetta and then moved to a school in Ranges village to complete her 10th standard. As her school was 8 km away from her home, Savitri, spent one year in Armoor and another in Nizamabad. Thereafter, she had enrolled herself for a BSc Nursing Course in Hyderabad but left it midway to make a career in anchoring. She, later, completed her graduation from an Open University.

Savitri belongs to a Hindu Family. Her father, Rajamallesh, is an RMP doctor and mother, Yashodha, is a Beedi worker. Not much is known about her siblings. She is married to Ganguly Mantri.

Career

Savitri began her career as a news anchor. Initially, she faced problems regarding her voice, language, and accent on various news channels. Subsequently, she auditioned for V6 channel to read the news in Telangana accent and got selected. In her initial days at the channel, Savitri read cinema news and gained wide popularity. She, then, started hosting the weekend special voice-overs on the channel. She earned huge appreciation for her radiant presence and flawless Telangana accent. Savitri, was later, called to host the prime time show “Teenmaar” at 9:30 p.m. every day with Bitthiri Sathi. The show is a satirical comedy on current happenings in Telangana, in which her on-screen chemistry with Sathi has been liked by the audience.

In 2019, she resigned from her job at V6 Channel and entered the Big Boss Telugu 3 house as a contestant.
