Saran Raj (1994-2023) was an Indian actor and assistant director, who mainly worked in South Indian films. On 8 June 2023, he passed away in a car accident in Chennai. The accident occurred when he was riding a motorcycle without wearing a helmet. Career

He worked as one of the assistant directors under the Indian film director Vetrimaaran for various Tamil films like ‘Vada Chennai’ (2018). Apart from working as an assistant director, he has also acted in a few Tamil films such as ‘Polladhavan’ (2007), ‘Aadukalam’ (2011), ‘Vada Chennai’ (2018), and ‘Asuran’ (2019).

Death

On 8 June 2023, a junior artist named Palaniappan rammed his car into the motorcycle of Saran. The accident happened at around 11.30 pm on Arcot Road in KK Nagar. Saran was seriously injured and passed away at the scene. According to reports, Palaniappan was driving the car in a drunk state. The accident occurred when Palaniappan was driving on Arcot Road in KK Nagar at 11.30 pm. Saran died immediately. A person who was passing by quickly called the nearby police. After investigating, it was discovered that Palaniappan from Saligramam was responsible for the accident. The police reportedly arrested him. The local police also found out that Saran wasn’t wearing a helmet while riding the motorcycle, which led to severe head injuries. ^[3]India Today
