Pratik Doshi is an Indian civil servant who serves in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as an Officer-on-Special Duty (OSD). Pratik is known as the “eyes and ears of the Prime Minister” for his close affiliation with Narendra Modi. He hit the headlines in June 2023 after he got married to Vangmayi Parakala who is the daughter of the Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman.

Career
When Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Doshi served in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). In 2014, he was posted to New Delhi at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) after Modi became the 14th Prime Minister of India. After he received a promotion and became a joint secretary in the PMO, on 14 June 2023, Doshi was appointed as the OSD (Research & Strategy). Doshi is considered to be one of the brains behind the Government of India’s policy of banning the sale and use of plastic bags in India.
