She played a supporting role named Shyama in the Tamil film, Kannathil Muthamittal (2002), directed by Mani Ratnam. She essayed a character named Latha in the Tamil film Virumbugiren (2002) for which she won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Character Artiste (Female). She played the character of Uma Maheshwari in the Tamil film Saravana (2006) after which she took a break for almost 8 years and appeared in a supporting role in the Telugu film, Legend (2014).

In the Tamil film Kaala (2018), she appeared as the wife of a character played by Rajinikanth. Her character Selvi, received wide appreciation and acclaim.

 

She gave a cameo appearance in the Malayalam film Unda (2019) as the wife of a character played by Mammootty. The character, Fathima, in the Kannada film K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022), was a notable appearance. She appeared as Valliyammal in the Tamil film Kondraal Paavam (2023) and as the character Rosamma in the Malayalam film Bandra (2023). She appeared as the mother of the lead character in the Telugu film Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (2023).

Easwari Rao played a role in the Tamil TV Series, Kokila Enge Pogiral (1999 – 2000), broadcasted on the Sun TV channel. She appeared in various Tamil TV series broadcast on the Sun TV channel, such as Perai Solla Va and Kasthuri (2006).
