Odean Smith made his One Day International debut against Ireland on 8 January 2022 at Sabina Park, Kingston stadium during Ireland tour of the United States of America and West Indies. In the second and third matches of the series, he scored 56/19 and 20/10 runs respectively.

Smith made his T-20 debut against Pakistan on 2 April 2018 during the West Indies tour of Pakistan. His first international wicket was of Hussain Talat; he bowled 4 overs with an economy rate of 10.0.

Indian Premier League (IPL)
Smith made his IPL debut in 2022 when the Punjab Kings acquired his services for Rs 6 Cr. He played his first match on 27 March 2022 against the Royal Challengers of Bengaluru. Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to bowl; Odean Smith bowled 4 overs and gave 52 runs with an economy rate of 13 but he saved the team at the time of batting when he scored 25/8 runs with a strike rate of 312.5. Punjab Kings won that match and Odean Smith became the Player of the Match in his T-20 debut.

In the 2022 season of IPL, Odean played 6 matches. He took a 4-wicket haul in a match against Mumbai Indians in 3 overs and helped the team to win the match. In 2023, he was bought by Gujarat Titans for Rs 50 Lacs.
