Rafiath Rashid Mithila is a popular Bangladeshi actress, singer, model, and development worker. She has been an active social worker who works with BRAC International, and she is the head of the Department of Early Childhood Development Programme in BRAC.
Rafiath Rashid Mithila was born on Sunday, 25 May 1980 (age 39 years; as in 2019) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her zodiac sign is Gemini. Her nickname is Mithila. She did her schooling from the “Viqarunnisa Noon School and College” in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She did her bachelor’s and master’s in political science from the University of Dhaka in 2006 and 2008, respectively. In 2010, she pursued post-graduation in “Contemporary Approaches to Curriculum and Instruction” from the College of Education and Human Development in Germany. In 2016, she pursued master’s in Early Childhood Development from the BRAC University in Dhaka where she was awarded the Vice-Chancellors Gold Medal.

On 3 August 2006, she got married to Tahsan Rahman Khan, and they have a six-year-old daughter, Ayra Tehreem Khan. However, the couple got separated on 20 July 2017.
Reportedly, from 2017 to 2018, she was in a relationship with Iftekhar Ahmed Fahmi (Film Director). In 2019, she is said to be in a relationship with Srijit Mukherji (Film Director).
In 2002, she started her career as a model. She used to do cultural and fashion shows for Neelanjana Palli (fashion house). Eventually, she appeared in tv commercials, and she became the brand ambassador for many brands such as Hayes and Haier, Bajaj hair oil, Close-up, Huawei Smartphones & many more. On 22 August 2008, she came into the limelight when she was featured in Habib Wahid’s song “O Amar Moyna Go”.
In October 2008, she made her TV debut with the show “House Full.” Eventually, Mithila appeared in TV shows, telefilms, short films, and songs. In 2011, she started doing social work with the international development organization, BRAC (Building Resources Across Communities). She was the Senior Manager of Education in November 2011. In 2014, she was appointed as the Programme Manager of Education in BRAC. She also used to represent BRAC in international summits and camps. In April 2017, she was appointed as the Head of Early Childhood Development Programme in BRAC International.
Mithila has worked in countries such as Uganda, Nepal, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, and, Liberia for research projects, teaching in the field of education and early childhood development, and designing and implementing a play-based education model. She is an activist for women and children’s rights in Bangladesh. She was the brand ambassador for the “BBC Janala” Campaign and the goodwill ambassador for Grameen Phone’s “Safe Internet for Children” campaign in Bangladesh. Mithila has designed and hosted Bangladesh’s first radio show on parenting in early childhood development named “Berey Othar Golpo” on Radio Shadhin.
In association with BRAC International, she has worked as a lecturer, teacher, and tutor in institutions such as the Northern University of Bangladesh, the Scholastica school of Bangladesh, the Minneapolis Public School District in the USA, and the Department of Early Childhood Development in BRAC University. She is also a writer for academic and non-academic blogs and journals.
On 4 November 2019, intimate pictures of Mithila with Iftekhar Ahmed Fahmi were leaked online. Many news publications published those photos, and the pictures went viral on social media. On 5 November 2019, she addressed the controversy on Facebook and said that Ahmed Fahmi’s account was hacked and pictures of her were stolen from his account, and she had filed a complaint with the cybercrime department regarding that.
