Amrinder Singh, better known as Dilpreet Dhillon, is a Punjabi singer, actor, and lyricist. He came into the spotlight with his Punjabi song “Gunday No.1.”

Dilpreet Dhillon was born on 24 August 1991 (age 31 years; as of 2022) in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. His zodiac sign is Virgo.

He attended Ludhiana’s Sant Ishar Singh Ji Memorial Public School and went to New Zealand to pursue his further education. Dilpreet was passionate about music from a very young age and used to sing at every wedding function in his family. In New Zealand, he worked on various small part-time jobs and after completing his graduation started working as a truck driver. While working as a truck driver, Dhillon collected money for his first song and returned to India for his brother’s marriage. He met Desi Crew and presented his desire to do a song with them but got rejected. Desi Crew asked Dhillon to learn and practice more before releasing his first song.

Dhillon met Amber at a friend’s marriage and love blossomed between the two. The duo dated each other for a while before tying the knot on 15 January 2018.

Career

Dilpreet Dhillon started his singing career in 2014 with the song “Gunday No. 1.” The song was an instant hit and earned him wide popularity. Next, he released the song “32 Bore” which was also liked by the audience. In 2016, he released his debut album “8 kartoos.”

Dhillon has released many superhit Punjabi songs including “Gulab,” “Gunday Returns,” “Thar Vala Yaar,” “Shreaam Apni,” “Fire Bolde,” and “Yaar Khade Ne.”

His film debut came in the year 2016 with the Punjabi film “Once Upon A Time in Amritsar.”

Controversy

Extra-marital affair

On 2 June 2020, his wife allegedly accused him of having extra-marital affair with a 40-year-old socialite. Amber was heard in a recorded phone call conversation with the daughter of the socialite. In the recorded phone call, which was played over an Instagram handle, the caller was identified as Amber. In the phone call, Amber inquire the daughter of the socialite –

I wanted to ask, do you know about your mom having an affair with my husband? I have ended my marriage yesterday”.

Later, a 42-minute live statement, Dilpreet Dhillon said,

I am only a singer going about doing my job. And the world is going about destroying my reputation. If my home can be saved, I request all to help me do that and, please don’t try and ruin it any further.” ^[1]The Times of India

Sidhu Moosewala murder case

In December 2022, Dilpreet Dhillon, along with Punjabi singers Babbu Maan and Mankirat Aulakh, was called by Mansa police for questioning in connection with the Sidhu Moosewala murder case. ^[2]The Tribune
