Punit Tiwari is an Indian actor, storyteller, and writer who is known for playing the role of Prince Mishra in TVF’s web series Sandeep Bhaiya (2023).

Punit Tiwari was born on Wednesday, 6 February 1991 (age 32 years; as of 2023) in Chittaranjan, West Bengal. His zodiac sign is Aquarius.

He did his schooling at Deshbandhu Vidyalaya Boys, Chittaranjan. Thereafter, he enrolled in Kuvempu University, Shimoga, Karnataka, where he pursued a BSc in IT (2008-2011). Later, he pursued a postgraduate diploma in TV Journalism at Jamia Millia Islamia, a Central university in New Delhi (2012-2013). He obtained a master’s degree in mass communication from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, Haryana (2013-2014). Career

In 2011, he started working as a freelance writer after which he worked for a non-profit organisation Room to Read in New Delhi. In October 2013, he joined the science content team of the Pratham Education Foundation in New Delhi.

Theatre

In 2011, he began his association with an amateur theatre group called Bahroop Arts Group, which mainly consists of students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. He has worked with various renowned theatre directors such as Devendra Raj Ankur, Rita Ganguly Raghuveer Yadav, Govind Namdeo, Shahid Anwar, Sanjay Upadhyaya, and K.S. Rajendran. In 2015, she became associated with the theatre group Kala Mandali in New Delhi. In 2017, he starred in the theatrical production of Sanjay Upadhyay’s Neelkanth Nirala by the Madhya Pradesh School of Drama.

In the same year, he also toured for Madhya Pradesh School of Drama’s theatrical production ‘Aranya Gatha,’ directed by KanhaiyaLal Kaithwas.

His work earned him the Shrilal Shukla Smriti IFFCO Sahitya Samman in 2017. Other theatrical productions in which he starred include Bahroop Arts Group’s Pagal Tantra (2018). He has also worked as a theatre director. In 2019, he designed and directed the play In Dino Har Roz.

OTT/Web Series

In 2017, he made his acting debut with the social comedy film Panchlait in which she played the role of Nand Ji which streamed on MX Player.

In 2018, he appeared in Netflix’s crime drama film Soni in which he played the role of a Second Navy Officer.  In 2019, he played the role of a junior ophthalmologist in Prime Video’s web series Laakhon Mein Ek.

He appeared in the short films Comedian (2019) as Amit Trivedi and White Shadows (2020) as The Joker. In 2021, he starred in the films Jamun as Amit, 200: Halla Ho as Santosh, and I Am Draupadi. In 2023, he played the role of Veer Singh’s son-in-law in Netflix’s web series Trial by Fire. In the same year, he appeared in the film Chhatriwali as Monu – CanDo Employee. Punit came into the limelight with the TVF’s web series Sandeep Bhaiya (2023) in which he played the role of Prince Mishra.

In 2014, he starred in a political satire show Chatkara News on the channel Anjan TV, where he would amusingly mimic numerous politicians like Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal.

From 2016 to 2020, he was part of a storyteller’s group called Kahani Depot Group. He took part in Udaipur Tales International Storytelling Festival. In July 2021, he became a part of the Creative Script Team Viacom18 Media Private Limited, where he worked till January 2022.
