International Championships

In 2019, Nitesh Kumar was included in the Indian kabaddi squad for the 13th South Asian Games which were held in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. The Indian kabaddi team bagged the gold medal by defeating Sri Lanka by the score of 51-18.

In 2023, Nitesh Kumar became part of the Indian kabaddi team which participated in the 19th Asian Games which were held in Hangzhou, China. The team won the gold medal in the finals by defeating Iran by the score of 33-29.

In 2019, Nitesh Kumar represented the Services Sports Control Board kabaddi team at the 66th Senior National Kabaddi Men’s Championship which was held in Raigad District, Maharashtra. The team won the second position in the championship.

In 2020, Nitesh represented the Services Sports Control Board kabaddi team in the 67th Senior National Kabaddi Championship which was held in Jaipur. In 2021, Nitesh represented the ‘UP Yoddhas’ team in the 38th All India Men Kabaddi Championship which was held in Gotegaon, Madhya Pradesh. In the same year, he represented the Goa Kabaddi Team in the 68th Senior National Kabaddi Championship which was held in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

Pro Kabaddi League

In 2017, Nitesh Kumar was selected under the New Young Players (NYP) category by the Lucknow-based team ‘UP Yoddhas’ and made his Pro Kabaddi League debut in season 5 as a defender.

In the following year, he was retained by the team for season 6 of the Pro Kabaddi League in which he played 25 matches and earned 100 tackle points.

In 2019, Nitesh was again retained by the team and was appointed as the captain of the team ‘UP Yoddhas’ in season 7 of the PKL in which he played a total of 22 matches and scored a total of 77 tackle points.
