Mita Vashisht, also known as Meeta Vashisht, is an Indian television, film, and theatre actress. Mita has played supporting roles in many Hindi films and TV serials. Mita is best known for playing the role of ‘Trishna’ in the popular TV serial, “Kahani Ghar Ghar ki.”

Mita Vashisht was born on Thursday, 2 November 1967 (age 53 years; as in 2020) in Jatal Village, Pune. Her zodiac sign is Scorpio. Mita is a post-graduate in literature from Panjab University, Chandigarh. After completing her post-graduation, Vashisht attended the National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi to learn acting. Mita Vashisht started her acting career in 1989 with the film, “Chandni” in which she played the role of Chandni’s friend. Subsequently, she appeared in films like “Drishti,” “Kasba,” “Drohkaal,” “Taal,” “Phir Milenge,” “Trishna,” “Youngistaan,” and “Rahasya.”

Mita made her television debut in 1989 with the TV serial, “Space City Sigma.” Next, she appeared in TV serials like “Bharat Ek Khoj,” “Pachpan Khambe Lal Deewarein,” “Swabhimaan,” “Hip Hip Hurray,” and “Star Bestsellers.”

Mita Vashisht was once invited in the debate show, “News Hour” on Times Now channel by news anchor, Arnab Goswami. She appeared on the show to speak against banning Pakistani artists in India. Col. V. N. Thapar was also present on the debate show to speak in favour of the ban. During the show, Mita yelled “Oh Shut Up, ” yanked off the ear phone, and walked off the camera. After Mita left the show, Arnab said that Vashisht had insulted the father of a Kargil War martyr by saying shut up to him. However, Mita clarified through a social media post that she shouted at Goswami and not at V. N. Thapar.
