Manilal Patidar was an Indian Police Services (IPS) Ofiicer of 2014 batch of the Uttar Pradesh (UP) cadre. He served in many districts of UP before being dismissed in June 2023 in relation to the death of a businessman.

Career
He secured the 188th rank in the UPSC examination in 2013 and was allotted the Uttar Pradesh cadre on 22 December 2014 as an Indian Police Service (IPS) Officer. [4]IPS List After completing his training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, he joined the Lucknow Police Office. In April 2018, he was promoted to the position of Additional Superintendent of Police (Additional SP) of Gonda district from the position of Assistant SP of Muzaffarnagar district. He later became the SP of Aligarh district, and in November 2019, he became the SP of the Mahoba district. He was later suspended due to corruption and abetment of suicide charges. On 24 June 2023, he was dismissed from Indian Police Services following which his name was removed from the Uttar Pradesh Police records.

Corruption & Abetment for Suicide
There have been several allegations of extortion from different businessmen, truck drivers, and shop owners of Mahoba when he was posted there as SP. On 7 September 2020, a local stone crusher business owner, Indrakant Tripathi, posted a video in which he said that Manilal was pressurising him to give Rs 6 lakhs extortion money on a monthly basis. He also raised suspicions that he would be murdered after such revelations. On 8 September 2020, Indrakant Tripathi was found unconscious in a car with a bullet wound in his neck. On 13 September 2020, Tripathi died during the treatment following which an FIR was registered against Manilal and four other policemen under sections 302 and 306 of the IPC. On 9 September 2020, Manilal was suspended, and he later absconded. [5]NDTV UP Police later declared a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head. After evading arrest for more than 2 years, Manilal surrendered before the court on 15 October 2022. He was lodged in Lucknow Jail before his dismissal on 24 June 2023. - It was alleged that the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India sent his dismissal on 29 December 2022; however, Uttar Pradesh Police did not take the required action and kept delaying it.
