In February 2006, Kamiya Jani started her career as a journalist with The Times of India. In June 2006, Kamiya switched her job and joined CNBC TV18 as a correspondent and sub-editor.

How it originated is an interesting story. 4-5 years ago, I was a news anchor at a business news channel but after a good 10 years of corporate job in media industry I decided to listen to my inner calling. I quit my job, started travelling, documenting my travels and culinary journeys, made videos posted on Facebook and boom I saw some really good response coming from all age groups. Controversy
The Visit to Jagannath Temple
In December 2023, Jani’s visit to the Jagannath Temple in Puri, Odisha, sparked controversy as netizens criticized her for allegedly promoting and consuming beef, which goes against Hindu beliefs; as per the practice of the Jagannath Temple, a beef eater cannot enter the temple. After Jani’s video from the visit went viral on the internet, Jatin Mohanty, the general secretary of the Odisha BJP, called for her arrest. Jani later responded to the criticism on social media by clarifying that she had never promoted or consumed beef. She also explained that sharing cultural aspects, including food, is part of her job.
