Heidar Ali Ekrami’s coach Javad Mousavi Nasab is his biggest inspiration and the only reason he got into the field of Kabaddi. The franchise ‘U Mumba’ was introduced to him by the Iranian Kabaddi player and his mentor, Fazel Atrachali. In 2019, Heidar Ali Ekrami took part in the Junior World Kabaddi Championship, held in Kish City, Kish Island, Iran. He was part of the Iran team squad that won the gold prize in the tournament finals. In 2023, Heidar Ali participated in the Asian Games held in the Xiaoshan District, China. He represented the Iran team and won the silver medal in the tournament.
In 2022, Heidar Ali was selected and bought by the Mumbai-based Kabaddi team ‘U Mumba’ for 14 lac rupees to play as a raider in the ninth season of the Pro Kabaddi League held in Bangalore. In the entire tournament, Heidar had an overall raid strike rate of 50% and a tackle strike rate of 67%. He even won the ‘game changer award’ in his first Pro Kabaddi League match.
