Career

In September 2008, he started working at AON Financial as a Business Associate. Uday Surya started his journey as an actor in 2011. In 2011, he was in the supporting cast of the Kannada black comedy film Lifeu Ishtene, the directorial debut of Pawan Kumar. At the beginning of his career, he was associated with Pocket Money Entertainment (2013-2015). In 2013, he starred in the short film ‘Vetkai.’

He appeared in the Kannada short film Sulige Sikkidaaga as Kumar. In 2015, Uday started his career as a model.

Thereafter, he played minuscule roles in the advertisements of various recognised brands like Hero for Hero HF Dawn bike, Red FM 93.5, Cleartrip wallet, and Schneider Electric.

In 2017, he played a negative role in the Kannada daily soap Avalu, broadcasted on Udaya TV. In the same year, he appeared in the Kannada TV serial ‘Nagakannike, ‘ which was telecast on Colors Kannada.

Other TV shows in which he played the lead antagonist include Amma and Shantam Paapam. In the same year, he played the role of Alok in an American short film ‘The Benefaction,’ which was filmed in Bangalore.

In 2017, he played the role of Yathiraaj in the Kannada TV show ‘Putmalli,’ which was broadcasted on Star Suvarna. Thereafter, he appeared in the Kannada TV series Muddulakshmi. In 2019, he made his film debut with the Kannada action comedy-drama film ‘Savarna Deergha Sandhi’ in which he played the role of Maani, the son of a priest and right hand of the local don Muddanna.

Thereafter, he appeared in the 2020 Kannada horror-comedy film ‘Honeymoon in Bangkok.’

Other projects under his belt include The Hauntings in MadhyaPradesh (2021) and Kannada short film Sulige Sikkidaaga. In the 2022 Kannada film Buddies, he played the role of Soda, a poor engineering student.

In 2022, he came into the limelight when he starred in the Kannada TV show Ramachaari, which was telecast on Colors Kannada. In the same year, he appeared as a contestant on the show Bigg Boss OTT Kannada.
