Sangay Tsheltrim was born on Wednesday, 10 March 1982 (age 41 years; as of 2023) in Phuentsholing, district Chukha, Bhutan. His zodiac sign is Pisces. He attained his school education at Yangchenphu Higher Secondary School in Bhutan. In 2001, Sangay Tsheltrim joined the National Defence Academy (NDA), Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, for graduation. Army
After completing his graduation, he started Army training at the National Defence Academy in Pune.

Sangay Tsheltrim then joined the Royal Bhutan Army in December 2005 and served there for 2 years. After that, he was promoted to captain in the Royal Body Guards in Bhutan in June 2008.

After serving His Majesty the King and the Royal Family of Bhutan for five years, Sangay Tsheltrim pursued his passion for bodybuilding and took voluntary retirement from the Army in 2013.

Bodybuilding
Sangay Tsheltrim began participating in various bodybuilding championships and clinched two gold medals, two bronze medals, and a silver medal in the National Bodybuilding Championships in Bhutan. In 2015, he participated in the Asian Bodybuilding Championships held in Uzbekistan and won two gold medals, two bronze medals, and a silver medal. Sangay Tsheltrim then clinched a bronze medal in the Asian Bodybuilding Championships held in Macau in 2016.
