In 2014, Powlen Jessica acted in Theri, which was a Tamil action thriller film. Powlen Jessica appeared in the 2017 Tamil film Thupparivaalan, which was critically acclaimed. In the 2021 Tamil film Teddy, Powlen Jessica worked as a voice-over artist and lent her voice to an animated character of a teddy bear. Death
On 19 September 2022, Powlen Jessica committed suicide, and her dead body was found by the Chennai police after her parents and friends lodged a complaint. According to the police, her family and friends lodged a missing complaint after Powlen Jessica had stopped responding to their phone calls and text messages. Reportedly, the police found a suicide note in her diary in which she had written that she ended her life because of her failing love life, and she does not blame anyone for her death. I loved someone very dearly. But the love did not end. Therefore, I am leaving this world and no one is to be held responsible for my death. I will love you for the rest of my life and I will continue to love you even after it.”
