Not much is known about his family.

Otto Farrant began his journey as a theatre artist at the age of eleven when he was hand-picked from his school to portray the role of Robin in ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ (2008), staged at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London. While talking about the onset of his acting career, he said,

At school I was not academically that great at English, I was much better in maths and sciences, and I almost did a degree in physics and maths…However, I was always in the school plays. One day I was picked to do a play at the Globe and off the back of that I got an agent and from there it snowballed.”

Thereafter, he managed to juggle his academics alongside the theatre. Other theatrical productions in which he appeared include Oedipus (2008) as Eteocles, The Habit of Art (2009) as Charlie, and Little Platoons (2011) as Sam. In 2014, he played the role of the young collector in the revival of the play ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ in which he shared the stage with Gillian Anderson, an established American actress.
