Nupur Shikhare was born on Thursday, 17 October 1985 (age 38 years; as of 2023), and he hails from Pune, Maharashtra. His zodiac sign is Libra.

A keen sports player during his childhood, Nupur grew up playing tennis and wanted to pursue a career in it. He was a national-level tennis player. He did his schooling at Seth Dagaduram Katariya High School, Pune. He studied at Capoeira Pune and the University of Mumbai. He attended R. A. Nupur Shikhare is married to Aamir Khan‘s daughter, Ira Khan, who is a film and theatre director. The duo registered their marriage at Taj Lands End in Mumbai on 3 January 2024.

Nupur’s unique entry to the wedding venue went viral on the internet. He jogged for about 8 kilometres to the venue with baraat in a pair of shorts and a black vest.

The couple celebrated their wedding festivities over three days at the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur from 7 January 2024 to 10 January 2024.

In 2020, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Nupur Shikhare started dating Ira Khan.

On 22 September 2022, Nupur proposed to Ira Khan in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, where he was participating in the 2022 Ironman championship. The couple got engaged on 18 November 2022.

Career

He had a brief stint as an assistant director and soon left the job to pursue a career in fitness and training. The manager of the gym where Nupur used to workout offered him to join as a trainer. Nupur used to roam around in Bandra handing over his business cards in fancy gyms, asking them to contact him if there was a vacancy. One day he got Sushmita Sen‘s contact number following which he texted “I am a fitness trainer and I want to train you” to her. On 28 March 2008, he started working as a personal trainer for Sushmita Sen.

In 2017, he represented India at Netflix’s Ultimate Beastmaster: India. He has a varied experience in fitness training which includes, gym training, circuit training, functional training, parkour, martial art, capoeira, cross fit, and bodyweight training. Apart from Sushmita Sen, Nupur also trains Aamir Khan, Ira Khan, and Kiran Rao.
