Ira Khan’s father, Aamir Khan, is a celebrated Indian actor, film director, and producer who works in Hindi films. Her mother, Reena Dutta, is an actress-turned-film producer. Ira Khan’s brother, Junaid Khan, is also an actor.

After 16 years of marriage, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta got divorced in December 2002 following which Reena took custody of both the children. On 28 December 2005, Khan married Kiran Rao, an Indian film producer, screenwriter, and director who works in Hindi cinema.

Together, Aamir and Kiran have a son Azad Rao Khan (born through a surrogate mother). In July 2021, Aamir and Kiran parted ways and announced that they would be raising their son Azad as co-parents.

Husband 

Ira Khan is married to Nupur Shikhare, a celebrity fitness trainer. The duo registered their marriage at Taj Lands End in Mumbai on 3 January 2024.

Nupur’s unique entry to the wedding venue went viral on the internet. He jogged for about 8 kilometres to the venue with baraat in a pair of shorts and a black vest.

The couple celebrated their wedding festivities over three days at the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur from 7 January 2024 to 10 January 2024.

Mishaal Kirpalani

Until 2020, she was in a relationship with Indian singer and music composer Mishaal Kirpalani. Their relationship first made the headline in mid-2019 when Ira tagged Mishaal in an ‘Ask Me Anything’ feature on her Instagram in which a fan had asked her “Are you dating someone?”

Nupur Shikhare

In 2020, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Ira Khan started dating Nupur Shikhare, who has been training former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen since 2008.

On 22 September 2022, Nupur proposed to Ira Khan in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, where he was participating in the 2022 Ironman championship. On 18 November 2022, Ira Khan got engaged to Nupur Shikhare. Career

In January 2017, she started her career as a Production Intern at Equinox Films Pvt Ltd, where she worked for 3 months. Thereafter, she started working as a Freelance Assistant Director during which she worked on various advertisements. In 2019, Ira made her directorial debut with a theatre production, Euripides’ Medea. The play was an adaptation of Euripides’ Greek tragedy Medea and starred Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan and actress Hazel Keech.

In 2020, she worked as an Assistant Director at the film and TV studio Tiger Baby.  In March 2021, she launched Agatsu Foundation which focuses on prevailing mental health issues.

Trolled For a Playful Picture With Her Father (2018)

In 2018, she received criticism for a picture with her father, Aamir Khan, in which the father-daughter duo displayed a playful mood enjoying family time. The picture was considered inappropriate by netizens who slammed Aamir and Ira by posting numerous obscene comments. ^[7]The Times of India

• Born to an actor father, Ira Khan did not want to follow in the footsteps of her father when it came to her career choice. In an interview, she revealed that she was never inclined towards acting. She said,
  

  I’ve always felt more comfortable and enthusiastic about working off-stage or behind the camera rather than [being] in front of it. I’ve never felt the inclination to act except if it were in an action film, so I get to learn all the cool stunts. Then again… I can just learn how to do the stunts without a film to work on.”

• When she was six, she was diagnosed with Tuberculosis.

• In a video posted on her Instagram account, she revealed that she faced sexual harassment at the age of 14.
