Namanveer Singh Brar was an Indian trap shooter and lawyer. On 13 September 2021, he shot himself on the right temple with his licensed pistol and died on the spot at his residence in Mohali, Punjab.

Career
He started practising shooting while he was in the second year of his graduation. In 2009, his family shifted from Faridkot, Punjab, to Mohali, Punjab, so Namanveer so Namanveer could get better facilities to practise shooting. He used to practise shooting at the Moti Bagh Shooting Range in Patiala, Punjab.
In 2013, he won a gold medal in the World University Games in Finland. In 2015, he bagged bronze in the double-trap shooting event at the All India University Shooting Championship. In the same year, he bagged a bronze medal in the World University Games in Gwangju, South Korea.
He had won a few other medals in various national shooting tournaments. Later, he started providing training to the budding shooters. In March 2021, he finished fourth in the Minimum Qualification Score (MQS) category of the Delhi Shooting World Cup. His shooting coach at DAV College, Chandigarh, was Amanendra Mann.
Death
Namanveer Singh Brar was found dead at his residence in Mohali, Punjab, on 13 September 2021, at 3:35 am. According to the local police, he used his licensed Austria-made Glock pistol to shoot himself on the right temple while he was alone in the room. His family members rushed to his room on hearing the voice of the gunshot. [3]Tribune India The Mohali Sub-inspector Amandeep Singh, who was the investigating officer in the matter, said,
He returned home late and went to his room, while his wife, who is pregnant, was sleeping with her mother-in-law. Prima facie, it looks like a suicide case. Ruling out foul play, we have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code on the statement of Brar’s father, who didn’t want any further investigation. After the postmortem, the body was handed over to family members.”
According to his family members, Namanveer had returned from a party late at night, and his wife was sleeping with his mother. On his demise, his shooting coach, Amanendra Mann of DAV College, Chandigarh, shared his grief. He said,
It’s shocking to know about Namanveer’s death. He was a bright shooter and I accompanied the Indian Universities team to the World University Games in Poland in 2016, where he won the team bronze medal. He was a passionate shooter and always showed his passion for the sport. It’s unfortunate to hear about his death.”
