Lukanand Kshetrimayum started working as a film director when he was just eight years old. He has directed Manipuri teleplays like Ram Lakshman (2010), Thambal Pareng (2010), and T.A.K (2011). In 2013, he directed the Manipuri documentary Sangai. Subsequently, he directed the Manipuri films Asengba Saktam (2014) and Meitan Araba (2019). Meitan Araba was released at the Manipur State Film Development Society in Imphal. The film has won seven awards at the SSS Manifa 2019 and two awards at the 12th Manipuri State Film Awards.

On 8 August 2019, Lukanand participated in and won the Garnier Men Mega Mister North East held in Guwahati, Assam. At the event, he was also awarded Mister International India title.

In the same year, he appeared as a jury member at the Youth Conclave, a fashion competition at B. Borooah College in Guwahati.

Lukanand represented India in the 14th edition of the male beauty pageant Mr International (2022) held at New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines. Around thirty-five contestants from around the world took part in the contest and Kshetrimayum emerged as the first runner-up in the contest after Manu Franco of the Dominican Republic. Lukanand also won the special award Mister Dermaworld International at the pageant.
