Rahul came to me in the office. He belonged to a different team and I to a different team. After I hosted an event and sort of did some mimicry and comedy acts as a host for a B-school, I became popular in the office. Rahul, who was on leave on the day of the event, was told about me and he later approached me asking if I have ever done a comedy stand-up.”

When Varun was working with the DBS Bank, he was contacted by Rahul who convinced him to participate in Only Much Louder’s Comedy Hunt with him. To participate in the competition, Kumar and Rahul created their YouTube channel Random Chikibum in 2015, which has more than 708K subscribers as of January 2023. The duo later published Kata Sky, their first video, on YouTube and sent it to Comedy Hunt as their official entry. Kumar and Rahul later emerged victorious in the competition. While talking about it, he said,

We teamed up and started working on our skit’s script for the competition. The first script was based on an interview in which I was the boss and Rahul was a candidate. It did not materialize as the script turned into a six-minute long video, whereas, Comedy Hunt had asked for a 2 to 3 minutes long video. So we ditched it. Later, Rahul said he had a script on a call centre and we moved ahead with it and created Kata Sky, which also became the first video on our YouTube channel.”
