Anup Upadhyay is an Indian actor famous for his comedic roles in TV shows and movies. He gained fame for playing David Mishra, also known as “Chachaji,” in the Hindi comedy series Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! (2015).

Anup Upadhyay was born on 21 May in Ganj Dundawara, Uttar Pradesh. His zodiac sign is Taurus. He attended Manohar Bhushan Inter College, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. He pursued his graduation at University in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. After graduation, He moved to Delhi and began acting in plays with writer Habib Tanvir. He was part of the Naya Theatre Group for a decade.

Television
Anup made his acting debut with the television show Yes Boss in 1999; he was part of the show till 2009 and played the role of Sunny on SAB TV.
From 2009 to 2014, he played the role of Chhotu Mama in the television show Lapataganj on SAB TV. In 2014, he played the role of Govardhan Dubey in the television show Neeli Chatri Waale on Zee TV from 2014 to 2016. He acted in the television series ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!’ on &TV and played the role of David Mishra, also known as Chachaji.
He was part of the show May I Come In Madam? from 2016 to 2017 on Life OK (now Star Bharat) and played the role of Mr Hitesh/Peon ‘Chedilal.’
He played the role of Murarilal Bansal in the television show Jijaji Chhat Par Hai for two years, from 2018 to 2020, on SAB TV.
In 2020, he acted in the show Excuse Me Maadam, playing the role of Adhbut “Adu” on Star Bharat. He appeared in other television shows including Kulvaddhu (2007) as Sri Mohan Sevak, Bhootwala Serial (2009), Hum Apke Hai In Laws (2013) as Fufaji, Jijaji Chhat Par Koii Hai (2021) as Jaldiram Sharma, and Dancing the Grave (2023) as Shradhananda. In 2023, he became part of the second season of the television series May I Come In Madam?.

Anup debuted in 2003 with the film Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon in which he played the role of a security guard.
In 2005, he played the role of Tiwari’s interviewer in the film Sehar.
In 2008, he played the role of a journalist in Chamku and a teacher in Bhootnath.
In 2010, he was part of the film ‘Na Ghar Ka Na Ghat Ka.’
